Strategy days
Setting a side a day or two a year for your team to think about the big picture – to imagine the future, to challenge thought and discuss barriers and opportunities is an inspiring and fruitful activity for any charity. Sometimes your CEO, senior team and board can be inhibited if they’re also facilitating the day. I can work with you to create a great, safe space for discussion and creativity and provide you with a written summary of the results with recommendations if required. Give yourself a break – let yourself fully participate in the day whilst I facilitate your away day.
Identify and agree your values
Do you have a set of values that need reviewing? Do your employees and volunteers connect with them and understand their role in living them? Do you give the team practical ways of demonstrating the values or are they less active than that? If you don’t have a set of agreed values but would like to develop some, I can facilitate a session or two and support you to identify, describe and/or review your values and how you want them to be made real in your organisation.
Review and feedback day
Taking time to stop and think about what’s going well and what isn’t, where the risks and challenges are, and what opportunities might have been missed or might be coming can be very empowering. But giving feedback and being honest about challenges can be tricky for some. I can work with you to create a safe space for feedback and objective assessment of your organisation’s achievements, mistakes and opportunities. I can help you to develop your feedback muscle and make plans for regular feedback opportunities.
Team development day
Team development days are a worthy investment in your organisation whether your teams are brilliant performers and best mates or whether they’re working in silos and misfiring. Let me help you to build teamwork, have some fun together, challenge each other, and understand each other’s perspective a little better.
Develop a coaching approach
Taking a coaching approach is a powerful tool for everyone whether in a management position or not. Understanding how to work with someone using a coaching approach can be very empowering to both coach and coachee. If you have issues with communicating, giving feedback, motivation, confidence or simply want to try a different approach to working together, taking a day out together to think about how you can ask better questions can be very worthwhile and will definitely be fun!
Board and staff away day
Board and Staff away days have always been one of my most favourite times of the year. The opportunity to find out about other’s perspectives, the opportunity to share experiences, discuss challenges and show appreciation and support for each other is so valuable. Most of the boards I’ve worked with have wanted to move forward, progress, get better and implement best practice. Most board members aspire to great governance.
